Inaugurated the exhibition on The Abbey of Crime on the occasion of its 30th anniversary
Video games continue to grow by leaps and bounds in Spain, getting society in general to have more acceptance to the medium. Proof of this is that the first permanent exhibition about a videogame in Spain has been inaugurated. And how could it be otherwise, with the iconic Abbey of Crime as a protagonist.
The inauguration took place on November 17. The project is the result of collaboration between our Association and the Polytechnic University of Madrid and, more specifically, the Technical School of Computer Engineers that had the financial support of FECYT. An exhibition that has taken two years of work dedicated to document in the most didactic way possible the richness of a video game that went beyond the limits of its time.
"Abadía del Crimen, the human side of the video game" takes the visitor to a small labyrinth based on the isometric perspective used in the video games of the mid-1980s, in order to feel part of a historical and romantic journey.
The exhibition was born with the aim of being a didactic and entertaining meeting point that encourages visitors to discover or deepen a benchmark of Spanish video games based on the novel "The Name of the Rose".

On the other hand, Correos Spain made in the same act the official presentation of the commemorative stamp of the video game on the occasion of its thirty years. Issued on May 8 and promoted by the Association of Users of Classical Computing, designed by Juan Delcán, it has already sold almost all the emission consisting of 180,000 mini sheets.
